Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is the medical use of oxygen at levels higher than atmospheric pressure.
The air in our environment is approximately 21% oxygen and we breathe ~6 pounds of it daily. Unfortunately, only ~2 pounds of that oxygen actually is absorbed into the blood and gets carried throughout our bodies. During HBOT, patients breathe 100% oxygen while under pressure inside a hyperbaric chamber. Breathing pure oxygen at an increased pressure allows our bodies to absorb more oxygen into the blood. In just 1 hour of HBOT, we can inhale up to 2.5 pounds of oxygen. That's more than we can inhale all day in our natural environment.
HBOT enhances the body's natural healing process.
During HBOT, our bodies are saturated with oxygen and the body responds by reducing inflammation. Meanwhile, red blood cells instantly fill with oxygen which dissolves directly into the blood and blood fluid. With the inflammation reduced, blood flow increases and soon, the oxygen-rich blood and other fluids is delivered throughout the body to many areas that are usually deprived. At this point, the body's natural healing process is accelerated.
- HBOT reduces inflammation.
- HBOT saturates the body with oxygen.
- HBOT increases the body's ability to fight infection.
- HBOT promotes the formation of new capillaries and blood cells.
- HBOT assists in clearing toxins and metabolic waste from the body.
- HBOT helps Increase the body's production of stem cells.
HBOT has been scientifically proven to stimulate the body's natural healing process, making HBOT an excellent compliment to conventional therapies and treatments ordered by your physician.
HBOT is Safe and Non-Invasive.
HBOT has been used internationally for many years, in many countries. It is considered standard treatment for several conditions. In the United States, numerous studies are helping HBOT become a more commonly recognized therapy.
The greatest possible care has been taken to insure your safety.
All National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) building and safety standards have been met or exceeded during the construction of our clinic. All blankets, pillows, towels and patient scrubs are specifically designed for hyperbaric use. Every detail has been met for your safety and convenience. Our chamber operators are technically trained in the administration of hyperbaric therapy and continuously improve their skills through ongoing education.
